Dearest Bride,

I know that your wedding is by far the most important day of your life! And as your florist I too want everything to be perfect for you and I mean everything. There are so many details you have to consider that I don't want to be the one to tell you that what you wanted isn't avaiable.

You see COVID has created a backlash of problems including the beautiful toffee colored flowers that you wanted in your stunning bouquet. When COVID hit many growers around the world plowed their fields under and opted to grow things that they felt they could sell faster such as marijuana.

The other thing that you are probably not aware of is that Toffee color rose which has been showing up in every wedding magazine showing the BOHO designs is a fairly new color to the floral industry and as of this time there are only a handfull of growers that are actually growing them. Oh and since they have limited their crop space and not sure where the industry was going they also limited their plantings.

Now we come to fall and here is the reality, out of thousands of brides wanting Taupe, toffee, off white and cream colored flowers for their wedding maybe a few hundred will actually get them. There are few if any of those colors avaiable and yes I know this is the second or third or even fourth time that you postponed your wedding but try as we may we just can't get you what you want. So we spend hours on the phone with every supplier that we know to come up with something that is remotely close to what you are wanting. And we still get shot down. Now we have to sit down and call you two days before your wedding to tell you and this is by far the hardest part to do.

So for those of you that are getting engaged let me just say that your florist is invested in your happiness, but from now on you will start to see lines in the contract that says "we can secure you a COLOR PALLETTE but not a flower choice" and also be aware that prices on those colored roses that are so popular have DOUBLED in price.
